Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.
Too often I live as though this weren't true.
Before Christmas I started jotting down ways I've seen God work and I've been trying on continuing this in my quiet time Bible journaling. The best part is that the Wee Killy's see it and see Him.
One day Mabel had a front row seat. She climbed in and pushed the button to close the automatic door for the van and it stopped short of closing and slid back open. This happened a couple times and out of desperation and frustration I prayed about it out loud. Later, at another stop it shut without trouble-I didn't think anything of it but God's handiwork was not lost on Mabel. She was giddy and chirped, "God fixed the door mommy!" (Gott fixed uh doe mommy!)
Thanks for pointing that out kiddo, 'cuz (sadly) I would've missed that!
In other news, our kids were supposed to return to school on Monday but a little blizzard caused that to not be the case. And again Tuesday. I was fine with that 'cuz I needed to do Lila's hair after she picked it out herself Saturday night. I kept thinking we should bake cookies but we were out of flour and sugar and since those don't trump level 3 blizzard conditions I had to shelf that idea. Wednesday was cancelled too, not too surprising (in fact, I waited that long to do the hair that's how not surprised I was about it.) But here we are, Thursday morning and school is cancelled again. Boo. I have errands to run, a house to put back in order, packing for our next trip to Watseka on Friday. I protest!!!
I'm sure the wee Killy's will be delighted.
