Clip Here for Order

I had hung chore charts on the wall. I'm laughing at how woefully inadequate they are. Everyday the living room gets dusted, the front bathroom cleaned, the kitchen swept, the dishwasher emptied (only once), and the front porch swept. BWAhahahahhahhaha...

I slapped those up quickly. I laugh because the recycle box doesn't get emptied, the 2nd bathroom isn't cleaned (at least that's not the one I use,) the laundry doesn't get downstairs, the dishwasher loaded or emptied after it's second run, the weeds pulled, nor the rooms tidied.

Also the 3 youngest kids can't read their charts.

Enter what I consider my first "big family stroke of genius idea" (i know, it's a bit of a wordy phrase) : Chore boards. I had a brainstorm to give everyone a clipboard with their chore list on it. That way instead of me having to get up and go read them their chores and then get up to go show them where the check mark goes I can say, "bring me your chore board" and I think they'll love 'em. I'm gonna attach a pencil to each one--currently they fight over a pencil to make check marks even though there are 20 more in the can next to the checklists.) I'm gonna let them go wild and decorate them too.

Now, keep in mind I haven't implemented this yet and I'm talking it all up. I hope I remember to tell you how it works out for us. Or at least to flip a pic of them up here. I'm hoping to implement them the last week of June. By the way, I've revamped the chore list too. I'm hoping both bathrooms will get cleaned now and other rooms besides the kitchen swept/vacuumed and dusted. Also, clean clothes should be coming soon as "take laundry to basement" made the new list!

Proverbs 19:21 seems appropriate here:

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.
