Naming Names

Have you been annoyed that there's no names of the 4 newbie kids here or anywhere? If we are FB friends you won't find any info about them there either. Their namelessness is not an oversight. Chilren's Services Bureau says we aren't allowed to broadcast info on foster kids, specifically facebook is a no no. So I've kept their names on the net hush hush. We are going to rename them anyhow so why give everyone more opportunity to learn their names only to have to ask you to relearn their new ones. We've been working on the new ones.

So since we have new names, I've decided it's good to introduce you, online (in decending order):

Anthony, 11
My original daddy's boy

Phineas, 8
Quickly becoming a Killy. He likes to do anything Anthony does.

Phoebe, 7
My original, sweetie-pie girl

???? OK, so we are still deciding on this one!! but I couldn't exclude her, isn't she beautiful?

Peter, 6
Puckers his lips at me and barks, "kiss me, you kissy mama!"

Mable, 3
This one seems to "strike a pose!" whenever there's a camera. Her nickname needs to be ham.

Last week CSB had a matching meeting to determine the best adoptive home for these 4. Apparently they chose us 'cuz they're all still here. sigh. *wink wink* This was the meeting we were hoping to have our classes and home study done in time to be included. Everyone thought it would happen in May or so but since the judge didn't sign the original Journal Entry it had to be resubmitted. All these things are "technicalities" I'm told.  "Whatever"(eyes glazed over as kids run amuck and scream around me--you sure there's no one else who wants to sign up for this???)--again, joking. really.

Next Monday, the 13th we go to C
hildren's Services Bureau for the official presentation of these kids to us for adoption. The adoption should be finalized in December. We are requesting the 13th because that's the date Anthony & Phoebe came to live with us in 2005. We celebrate the 12 days of Christmas with them and remember that day as special and it would be nice if it was special for all 6 of them.

My originals, Anthony & Phoebe, are not to be excluded from this list of goods and bads but I'll just briefly mention the "news" for now.

So on we go, each day holds new surprises, some good, some not so good. My dog has eaten from the toilet (I recommend not getting doggy kisses from her when you come over.) The stickers stuck all over my furniture and house are annoying reminders of kids who need to be told the same thing one million and one times and they still don't get it. Oh yeah, and don't get me started on how many times I grab a door knob only to be greeted with a slimy, sticky reminder of 12 pairs of hands that have passed by here before me.

But then there's unexpected look from Phineas as he rushes in after football practice and grabs me and says, "I love you mama!" which he hadn't said before. The unnamed one who looks at me with those big melt-my-heart-brown eyes and is in need of so much sweet love and patience...anyone got some of that?!? Mable standing in front of the TV so mesmerized by the singing girl in "OKLAHOMA!" that she moves the candles out of the way to get her face as close to the TV as she can and won't go feed Uno (who apparently still prefers dog food to eating out of the potty) protesting because, "she's singing mama!" So I pause the girl mid song to more amazed looks and when she comes back she looks at me and we start up the girl again. She stands on the fireplace hearth with her face this close to the TV screen, singing loud and off key with the singing girl. To Peter, the "kissy lips" kid who squeezes my face in his hands and kisses my cheeks and mushes up my arm fat when he bounces on the couch next to me and smothers me with heat and love.

Whew! They are sWEEt Killy's.
